Ripley Church of England Primary School – Spring Sponsored Walk

The children, parents and teachers of Ripley Infant School along with village support are getting ready for a sponsored walk to raise funds for the School’s expansion plans. The walk which will take place on Saturday 26 April 2008 and is open to all who would like to take part. Being a family event, children and parents are being encouraged to join in.

The dedicated route will take in some of the major landmarks in Ripley. Commencing at the School, over and around the Village Green to the Cricket Club, past St Mary Magdalen Church and back through Georgelands, the walk will end back at the School. Since the school age starts as young as 3 for the pre-schoolers the route will be adapted for the younger participants.

Local businesses and residents have already expressed an interest in sponsoring a child or children. Anyone wishing to join the walk or pledge any kind of sponsorship are encouraged to ring the School on 01483 225307 to request a sponsorship form or make a pledge. With the spring sunshine hoping to boost good support for the event, the School are aiming high with a £5000 target. If all 72 pupils take part, this could be an achievable amount.
