Discipline

School rules are kept to a minimum and children are expected to adhere to them. Should any child have serious behavioural problems parents will be consulted and difficulties tackled together following our agreed discipline policy.

We care about the children and treat them with respect and dignity. We aim to build a relationship based on sympathetic understanding with firm expectations of good behaviour and hard work. In this way a pleasant, happy atmosphere is created and serious problems are rare.

School Code

  • Respect ourselves and others
  • Keep hands and feet to ourselves
  • No put downs
  • Listen to others
  • Share our things, time and ideas

The following statements are for the benefit and safety of all children:

  • Jewellery should not be worn in school as this can unnecessarily inflict injury. This includes earrings.
  • Children should not bring money to school unless it is for a special reason, e.g. dinner money, trip money, when it should be sent in a sealed, named envelope.
  • No child is allowed to leave school premises without permission once he/she has arrived at school. Parents are asked to collect their children for dental appointments, etc. and to sign the “Children out of School” book.
  • If someone else is collecting your child from school we need to be informed. We will not allow a child to leave with anyone other than a parent or usual carer unless we have been notified. No child will be allowed to go unless with an adult. Please ensure the child’s class teacher knows when he/she is going to After School Club.
  • Children are not allowed to bring sweets to school except to share on special occasions, e.g. birthdays.
  • Children are expected to move about the buildings in an orderly way showing politeness and consideration for other people and their property. Our children are recognised for beautiful manners and consideration for others.
