About the school

For many years the Primary School was next to the parish church on the main road through Ripley but when it became necessary to replace the obsolete buildings the school moved to its present site with plenty of space both for all the buildings we need and for sporting activities. At the time of the move the school was changed into a First School (teaching ages 5 to 8), which was felt as a great loss for the village. With further reorganisation by Surrey we were reduced to Infant status - only teaching children to the age of 7.

As a result of a concerted campaign by the school's governors and parents, and with the support of the local community, we were able to get permission to grow back into being a full Primary School and this process is now nearing completion. In September 2011 we will complete the growth and will be teaching children from the ages of 4 to 11. With a pre-school on site as well our children start to get involved in school life when they are even younger.

All this growth has required new buildings of course - we put up three classrooms when we started to change and we will be building specially designed accommodation for the pre-school and an expanded kitchen ready to serve meals to our growing number of pupils.
